  • OPN Competency Center

    The OPN Competency Center OPN Member is an intelligent training tool that allows you to manage your Oracle training:

    • Evaluate what areas need improvement by taking pre-assessments, and create a custom guided learning path
    • Follow role-based guided training paths that lead to Oracle product specialization
    • Enroll and complete specialists exams
    • Build and monitor workgroups around any product specialization
    • Monitor your personal progress and your company’s progress using the specialization Tracker.

    Role Definitions

    The OPN Specialization Program focuses primarily on four job roles - Sales, Presales, Implementation and Support. By achieving competency in each of these four areas, your company has a breadth of skill to be considered specialized.

    Boot Camps

    The Boot Camps are designed as a "jump start" training to enhance your skills by providing role-based training on industry-leading Oracle solutions and services.

    The boot camps are built as concise, intensive, and real-time training to give partners a competitive advantage as they prepare to build powerful solutions for their own customer base. Partners can choose to attend these boot camps in class or in a live virtual class format to maximize the effectiveness and the time allocated to training.

    Training Format

    Online Training
    Oracle Partners are entitled free access to the Oracle Knowledge Center (OUKC), a vast library of recorded product courses. New courses are regularly added to the library, providing partners with the latest information and training to master new products or to increase proficiency on the new releases.

    Instructor-Led Training
    Partners can take any publicly-scheduled Oracle University courses at steep discounts. Benefit from hands on experience to gain real working skill and work toward Oracle certifications.

    Education Reseller Resources
    The Oracle University Reseller program is an extension of Oracle University’s education sales division. This program enables qualified organizations to offer certain Oracle education products and services for resale. Please see the Education Reseller Resources for additional information.

  • Access Training

    Access to training is a benefit of the Oracle partner program, and is delivered through the OPN Competency Center OPN Member. This tool provides access to over 400-role based guided learning paths and 150 specialist tests and exams.

    Here you can:

    • Evaluate your skills by taking a pre-assessment
    • Begin and track a Guided Learning Path
    • Register for boot camps
    • Register and complete specialist tests and exams
    • Search for the latest product release training

    Track Company Progress

    You can find out the status of your company with regard to an individual specialization by using the Specialization Tracker.

    The tool displays the required education criteria to apply for specialization and maps your company achievement to those staff competency requirements. Once completed, a link is activated to allow your company to apply for specialization.

    The certification credentials display on the OPN Competency Center, if the PearsonVue testing account is updated with the OPN Company ID and the Oracle CertView account is activated.

    Manage Guided Training

    Your individual progress toward a role-based guided learning path begins the moment you begin the first course. Graphically see your progress in each class and manage your specialist accreditations on the home page of the OPN Competency Center.

    Build Training Workgroups

    To facilitate your company’s path to specialization, the OPN Competency Center offers a powerful tool: OPN CC Training Manager. The tool allows for the creation and management of work groups where colleagues can complete training plans that are assigned to them.

    Here you can:

    • Identify product specialization areas and assign the appropriate resource to drive training
    • Track workgroup progress and assign or adjust training
    • Communicate with colleagues using the work group logs
    • Allow individuals to join existing workgroups within their company and contribute to specialization
    • Group Oracle expertise by region, or customize it to fit your needs
    • Manage all of your company’s Oracle training in one place.

  • Why Specialize

    OPN Specialized Program is the most significant evolution of the OPN program in more than a decade. The focus of the new program is on specialization, which you achieve through competency development, business results, expertise and proven success.
    OPN Specialized partners are recognized by Oracle, and preferred by customers.

    How to Get Specialized

    Step 1: Join OPN Specialized
    Go to partner.oracle.com > Join Now
    Step 2: Join Knowledge Zone
    Go to partner.oracle.com > Knowledge Zones
    Select the Knowledge Zone of the solutions area of interest
    Step 3: Specialize
    Go to partner.oracle.com > Knowledge Zone > Specialize tab
    Meet the business and competency criteria.
    Apply for specialization once the required criteria are met.

    Access Get Started area to learn more about joining the program.

    Enablement Criteria

    The enablement criteria for each specialization are defined in the Knowledge Zone. You will find a table which outlines how many qualified employees you need in the areas of Sales, Presales, Implementation and Support.

    Specialist Exam Types

    The OPN Specialized Program accepts two forms of tests: online specialist accreditations and proctored certified specialist exams. Each contributes to OPN specialization.

    Online Accreditations
    Online accreditations titled “Specialist” contribute towards your company specializations. These tests are delivered online, free of charge to OPN members and can be found on the OPN Competency Center. Online tests are primarily but not restricted to Sales, PreSales and Support roles.

    Certified Specialist Exams
    Certified specialists exams are delivered in class, in a proctored environment. The certified specialist exams cover primarily the Implementation and select Support roles and are fee based.

    Partners may register to take these exams in the OPN Competency Center. Some in class training or prior implementation expertise may be required to successfully pass these exams.

    Beta Exams and Vouchers

    All certified exams go through a beta testing period used by Oracle to evaluate new exam questions for the final version of the certification tests.

    Passing a beta exam grants full credit towards OPN specialization and partners are invited to be one of the very first to become an Oracle Certified Specialist.

    The certified exams are fee based. However, OPN Gold, Platinum and Diamond members receive limited free exam vouchers with their membership.
