“Aconex is much more than a document management system. It's a comprehensive collaboration and control environment. It brings transparency, efficiency, and accountability to your projects. Once you've embedded Aconex in your process, it becomes an invaluable asset for project delivery.”
Boutique Group’s mission to preserve and restore Saudi Arabia’s historic palaces as ultraluxury boutique hotels isn’t seen as just a construction endeavor but as a national responsibility. To redevelop three former palaces, the Public Investment Fund-owned company used spreadsheets and other manual methods to manage huge volumes of documents and correspondence. Needing to standardize processes for document management, improve communication, and consolidate project information, the company chose construction management application Oracle Aconex after determining complex restoration efforts required a cloud-based system that could be easily accessed by all stakeholders. Traditional manual processes typically require documents to be sent, forwarded, and returned multiple times. Aconex reduced approval cycle times by connecting teams and processes to central, automated workflows. The application improved document traceability, which is crucial to managing design changes and contractor communication. It also increased productivity across teams and provided a reliable audit trail to help mitigate risk. In such culturally important heritage projects, where decisions need to be justified and revisited, having a permanent tracking record provides confidence in documentation, helps resolve disputes, and supports compliance with regulatory and contractual obligations.
