Duoc UC is a Chilean nonprofit, private higher education institution with 18 campuses and more than 100,000 students. During the pandemic, the university saw a huge demand for mobile access to its platforms, but its IT environment lacked the necessary resilience and scalability. This prompted Duoc UC to explore a migration to the cloud for more agile data management. Duoc UC selected Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) after determining that it surpassed the university’s technical requirements and could also help lower costs. With OCI, the institution achieved greater system stability compared to its on-premises servers, reduced points of failure, and established a stronger foundation for its operations. The university also realized an 18% savings in software licensing, bringing more efficient allocation of its resources.
