Emerson relies on Oracle Cloud to help reshape its business portfolio
The global manufacturing powerhouse moves Oracle E-Business Suite and other key workloads to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
“Oracle has been a great partner in our journey for more than 20 years.”
Founded in 1817 as a manufacturer of electric motors and fans, Emerson today is a global automation technology leader, providing innovative solutions for many of the world’s essential industries. Given the complexity of its business, Emerson uses local operations to help it meet the cost, speed, and resiliency expectations of its customers.
As Emerson reshaped its business to become a global automation company, it divested its climate technologies business and sold its St. Louis, Missouri, campus, which housed the company’s primary data center. The company decided to move its data center workloads, including applications essential to its differentiating strategy such as Oracle E-Business Suite, to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
Furthermore, Emerson partnered with Oracle on a “Factories of the Future” initiative to tap insights from the vast amounts of factory data it collects.
Watch the video to hear Emerson CEO Ram Krishnan and Oracle CEO Safra Catz discuss Emerson’s transformation from a regional manufacturer to a cohesive global automation company, with Oracle as its longtime partner.
