Universidad Andina reduces costs by 15% with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)
The Peruvian university lowers infrastructure maintenance costs and increases the availability of its services to 100% with OCI.
“The implementation of OCI allowed us to reduce costs, increase the availability of our services to 100%, and reduce maintenance times to an average period of five to six hours, helping to ensure the stability of our platform.”
Andina University of Cusco is a private university located in the city of Cusco, Peru, with a student population of around 22,000. Early in the COVID pandemic, the university needed to rapidly transition to fully virtual instruction in accordance with lockdown orders, which required a more sophisticated computing environment. With its competitive pricing, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) was the best choice among the cloud vendors that the university considered. The university’s previous experience with MySQL-powered services was also a major factor in the decision to migrate to OCI. After the implementation, Andina University reduced infrastructure maintenance costs by 15% annually and increased the availability of its digital services to 100%.
