Business Challenges

Pipefy is a process automation platform based on artificial intelligence (AI) and no-code tools that helps companies increase their productivity and efficiency easily and intuitively by centralizing data and standardizing processes in areas such as finance, human resources, purchasing, IT and others.

The company currently serves 4,000 clients in 140 countries, including major brands such as Visa, IBM, and Volvo. Operational efficiency is a strategic pillar for Pipefy. In 2022, they intensified its approach, prioritizing more efficient resource management to optimize costs and improve performance.

That's when the company's leaders decided to delve into analysis and feasibility studies to identify the best optimization opportunities. They realized that one option was to change their cloud infrastructure provider.

The choice for Oracle was made after Pipefy realized that the company could help not only with their short-term agenda, focused on cost efficiency, but also with medium and long-term objectives, through a robust set of artificial intelligence solutions, driving innovation in the business.

Why Pipefy chose Oracle

The company then began an extensive search for other provider options. The goal was to find a strategic partner that would not only offer the same technical services and product portfolio at a more competitive price, but also help them build their business in the medium and long term.

After several rounds of testing and approvals, they chose Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) due to a supported architecture and business needs at the best price. They also chose OCI for its portfolio of AI services, essential for structuring and training the company's own language models.

Results

Pipefy was able to reduce their cloud infrastructure costs by 30% after migrating applications, databases, and other vital components to OCI. The benefits, however, go beyond that; they also involve a culture shift within the company regarding the use of other large language models (LLMs) and specialized tools. Until then, the services offered by Pipefy were anchored in GPT-4, OpenAI's language processing program.

With OCI Generative AI, the company now has access to a broad set of cutting-edge, customizable LLMs, enabling them to build a much more robust and comprehensive architecture within a multimodal logic. Pipefy has also been able to strengthen its go-to-market strategy, using tools like Document Understanding and Speech-to-Text to develop and test solutions before officially launching them in the market.

With OCI, Pipefy was also able to develop their team of specialists, providing them with expertise in managing tools with Kubernetes, resulting in improvements in information security in the data traffic and encryption at static layers, as well as in processes and indicators for security teams.
