As a responsible producer of hardware products, Oracle offers various take back programs that allow our customers and suppliers to return excess used products or materials. These programs help protect the environment and provide valuable services to our customers. All returns are managed via the Oracle Returns Management System (ORMS). Registration and process instructions are included under the take back program descriptions below.

Oracle manages excess and end-of-life electronic equipment based on a Reuse, Recover, Recycle policy.

  • Oracle programs follow industry best practices and are compliant with local law.
  • Oracle directly audits their recyclers to better ensure compliance and actively drives continuous improvement as laws continue to change.
  • Oracle tracks and reports their reuse, recycling, and landfill results as well as the details of their recycling program.
  • Oracle partners with local compliance schemes in many jurisdictions to collect and recycle waste portable batteries.

Hardware Take Back and Recycling benefits

  • There’s no charge to the customer for pickup, transport, or recycling.

  • Financial credit may be available if there’s reuse potential.

  • For select systems, we offer deinstallation support at no charge.

Oracle's take back programs

Oracle helps you dispose of and recycle your excess used Oracle-branded products in an environmentally responsible manner. Oracle applies the Reuse, Reclaim, Recycle strategy as a best practice. There’s no charge to the customer for transportation and recycling.

Take back program descriptions

  • eWaste: customer returns program for retired Oracle-branded products intended for recycling.
  • ORMS registration and return process for eWaste (PDF).
  • Used EE: customer returns for retired Oracle-branded products intended for reuse.
  • SRC (System Return for Credit): based on Oracle's need for spare parts, financial credit may be available for customers returning retired products. (Please ask your Oracle account rep.)
  • E&O (Excess and Obsolete): material from external suppliers and internal manufacturing operations.
  • ORMS registration and return process for used EE, SRC, and E&O returns (PDF).
  • Internal: Oracle-branded products returned from internal Oracle labs and data centers. To retire your Oracle department’s excess Oracle-branded products, visit MyOracle.com. Go to Employee Tools and click on Asset Recovery and Recycling, and follow the instructions on the Hardware Take Back tab.
