Oracle MCP Servers

Oracle is committed to providing the best possible AI experience. We provide MCP Servers for some of our most popular platforms, including the Oracle AI Database.

We offer both remote and local MCP Servers. Developers and DBAs can use our SQLcl MCP Server and Cloud customers can deploy enterprise scale in Oracle Cloud infrasture with our Database Tools MCP Server.

MCP refers to the Model Context Protocol, a standard for enabling AI assistants and large language models to interact securely and efficiently with external resources. MCP is designed for language-agnostic, machine-to-machine workflows and provides structured communication between agents (such as AI models) and external tools, including databases, APIs, and other enterprise data sources.

To get started, download Oracle SQLcl, or explore our Database Tools MCP Server.

The Model Context Protocol has become AI’s lingua franca. Oracle was one of the first movers delivering a single user implementation aimed at developers accessible via SQLcl. Now, Oracle is going enterprise with an OCI-based managed MCP service intended for business users. It uses OCI and Oracle AI Database role-based access controls, it’s easy to deploy, works with any Oracle AI Database service anywhere, and it’s zero cost. With this announcement, Oracle is making it very attractive for organizations to use AI to run their business and achieve Enterprise Acceleration.”

Database Tools MCP Server

The Database Tools MCP Server is a cloud-based serverless solution that enables you to connect Large Language Models (LLMs) to your database.

The Database Tools MCP Server enables you to connect external AI applications to databases supported by Database Tools Connections.

Oracle SQLcl

SQLcl's free and integrated MCP Server bridges Oracle AI Databases with AI-driven solutions by allowing Language Learning Models (LLMs) to interactively execute queries and process results. This positions SQLcl as the go-to interface for both traditional database development and cutting-edge AI/ML-driven applications.

A collection of MCP Servers for working with and managing OCI services such as Cloud Guard, Compute, Storage, Identity, Logging, Monitoring, and much more!

Highlights

Bring Agentic AI to your Database

1

Zero Database Configuration

The Oracle SQLcl MCP Server (STDIO) makes connecting agents to your Oracle AI Database effortless in local environments. SQLcl MCP Server streamlines connectivity with simple configuration steps and automatic integration. It also runs seamlessly within the SQL Developer VS Code extension, which handles deployment automatically—eliminating the need for complex installations or runtime management.

For cloud-native deployments, the Oracle Database Tools MCP Server (HTTPS) extends the same simplified experience to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). With managed connectivity, centralized administration, and cloud-based deployment options, organizations can rapidly enable Agentic AI workflows against Oracle AI Databases without maintaining local infrastructure.

2

Security and Data Privacy

Agents communicate securely with Oracle AI Databases through both the Oracle SQLcl MCP Server for local environments and the Oracle Database Tools MCP Server for cloud deployments. Credentials are never shared directly with agents, and passwords are securely stored and encrypted using Oracle SSO wallets and OCI security services.

Both deployment models emphasize simplicity without compromising enterprise-grade security. Whether running locally through SQLcl or centrally managed in Oracle Cloud, MCP Server provides secure authentication, encrypted communication, and streamlined deployment processes that help organizations maintain strict security and compliance standards.

3

Available on all Oracle AI Databases

To ensure maximum accessibility and flexibility, Oracle MCP Server solutions are compatible with all supported Oracle AI Database versions. The Oracle SQLcl MCP Server enables secure agent connectivity across on-premises, virtualized, and containerized deployments, while the Oracle Database Tools MCP Server provides the same capabilities for Oracle Cloud Infrastructure environments.

Together, these local and cloud MCP Server options allow organizations to maintain secure, unified, and consistent AI-driven database operations regardless of where their Oracle AI Databases are deployed.

4

Broad appeal and powerful use cases

Oracle MCP Server solutions support a wide range of use cases, making them powerful and versatile tools for database and data professionals. The Oracle SQLcl MCP Server empowers developers, database administrators, data engineers, and business analysts to integrate Agentic AI directly with local and enterprise Oracle AI Database environments.

For organizations adopting cloud-first strategies, the Oracle Database Tools MCP Server delivers scalable, managed MCP capabilities in OCI, enabling secure enterprise AI workflows, centralized governance, and simplified cloud operations. Together, these MCP Server offerings enhance productivity, streamline database interactions, and accelerate AI-driven innovation across diverse environments and teams.
