Project Jupiter to Provide Environmental Data to the Public

Oracle today announced a comprehensive community program for Project Jupiter that will provide the public with in-depth, up-to-date information about Project Jupiter’s environmental factors, including air, noise, heat, light, and water use once the project is live. In addition, Oracle will commission independent third-party assessments of this information and make reports available to the public.

The public dashboard will allow community members to review data measured onsite, including noise levels surrounding the data center campus, water use from the data center’s operations, and heat and emissions produced from the fuel cells and the data center. The dashboard will give the community direct access to information about the project’s operations and environmental performance.

Project Jupiter will also commission twice-yearly assessments conducted by an independent third-party expert. These reports will compare performance with baseline environmental conditions and relevant industry standards and certifications, helping ensure performance is visible and accountable.

Project Jupiter will also provide this information to the Doña Ana County Community Monitoring Committee to support the mission of this new body. The dashboard and twice-yearly reports will launch after Project Jupiter’s data centers are operational.

Delivering Lasting Value for Doña Ana County

Project Jupiter is expected to deliver billions in long-term economic impact to New Mexico and Doña Ana County. The project is on pace to create more than 7,000 construction jobs and 1,500 ongoing project-supported jobs once construction is complete, with a focus on local hiring and workforce development. Project Jupiter is already delivering measurable benefits: nearly 1,000 New Mexico residents are working onsite to build the campus, and it has generated nearly $100 million in state and local tax revenue.

Project Jupiter will use closed-loop, non-evaporative cooling that continuously reuses liquid within sealed systems rather than relying on traditional evaporative cooling. Including the initial fills, Project Jupiter’s estimated water use, averaged over 15 years, is less than nine U.S. households over the same time period. Neither the data center cooling systems nor the fuel cells will use community drinking water; public drinking water at the site will be limited to ordinary employee needs, such as kitchens and restrooms.

Project Jupiter has also committed $50 million to help repair, upgrade, and improve local water systems; $360 million in direct support for schools, infrastructure, and local services; and $6.9 million for workforce development and community organizations. That commitment also includes a program with Arable to help New Mexico farmers use real-time field data for more efficient irrigation, conserving about 21 million gallons annually in the Rio Grande-Bravo watershed—more water than Project Jupiter’s cooling and fuel-cell systems use.
