A user can gain access to un-entitled pages.
A problem was identified that could potentially cause a security vulnerability in certain versions of WebLogic Portal. A patch is available to correct this problem (see Section II). Oracle treats potential security problems with a high degree of urgency and endeavors to take appropriate steps to help ensure the security of our customers' systems. As a result, Oracle strongly suggests the following actions:

Any sites that use entitlements placed directly on desktop books, pages, or portlets are susceptible to this vulnerability. Certain carefully constructed URLs might allow a user to access all the pages of the Book even though the user is not entitled to access them.
Entitlements that are placed on Portals built from library books, pages, and portlets are not affected by this problem.
This patch resolves the issue by enforcing proper access restrictions.

WebLogic Portal 8.1 Service Pack 5 will include the functionality in this patch. Please Contact Oracle Customer Support for assistance with 8.1 releases prior to SP4.
