General note: Oracle Database is mainly certified against the Operating System (OS). If an OS vendor releases a newer OS version along with a complementary virtualization and/or partitioning technology, the support of this new combination depends on the following:

The new OS must be certified by Oracle.
The new OS plus the virtualization/partitioning solution is guaranteed by the appropriate hardware vendor to be backward-compatible to the version listed in the table below.

Kernel-based virtual machine (KVM):

Kernel-based virtual machine (KVM), also known as KVM virtualization, is certified with 19c Oracle Single Instance and Oracle RAC for all supported Oracle Linux 7 distributions.
KVM is certified with 19c Oracle Single Instance and Oracle RAC for all supported Oracle Linux 8 distributions:
- Oracle Linux 8.1 with the Unbreakable Enterprise Kernel 6: 5.4.17-2011.0.7.el8uek.x86_64 or later
- Oracle Linux 8 with the Red Hat Compatible kernel: 4.18.0-80.el8.x86_64 or later

Oracle Solaris SPARC Notes

Oracle VM for SPARC (formerly known as Logical Domains) are supported with:
- Oracle Single Instance and Oracle RAC 19c (19.5 with Patch 23211028) on Oracle Solaris 11.4 and later SRUs.
- Oracle Single Instance and Oracle RAC 19c (19.5 with Patch 23211028) on Oracle Solaris Cluster 4.4 SRU 5 and later SRUs.
Oracle Solaris Kernel Zones are supported with:
- Oracle Single Instance and Oracle RAC 19c on Oracle Solaris 11.4
Oracle Solaris 11 Zones on Oracle Solaris Cluster are supported with:
- Oracle Single Instance and Oracle RAC 19c (19.5 with Patch 23211028) on Oracle Solaris 11.4 and Oracle Solaris Cluster 4.4 SRU 5 and later SRUs.
Oracle Solaris 11 Zones are supported with:
- Oracle Single Instance and Oracle RAC 19c (19.5 with Patch 23211028) on Oracle Solaris 11.4 and later SRUs.

IBM AIX Power Notes

Oracle DB 19c (19.3 and above) is certified to be used with the IBM AIX Workload Partition (WPAR) feature on AIX 7.1 with a minimum service level of TL09 SP3 or later, and on AIX 7.2 with a minimum service level of TL04 SP1 or later
Oracle DB 19c (19.13 and above) is certified to be used with the IBM AIX Workload Partition (WPAR) feature on AIX 7.3 with a minimum service level of TL0 SP1 or later
Oracle DB and RAC 19c are certified to be used with the IBM PowerVM Live Partition Mobility (LPM) feature on AIX 7.1 with a minimum service level of TL05 SP01 and on AIX 7.2 with a minimum of service level of TL4 SP1 or later, 64-bit kernel
Oracle DB and RAC 19c (19.13 and above) is certified to be used with the IBM PowerVM Live Partition Mobility (LPM) feature on AIX 7.3 with a minimum service level of TL0 SP01, 64-bit kernel

Oracle 19c single instance databases are supported on HPVM 6.3 or later.

Microsoft Windows x86-64 Notes

Microsoft Hyper-V:

A particular Oracle Database Client version is certified for a Hyper-V host/guest combination whenever the same version database single instance version is certified for that same combination. For example, Oracle Database 19c single instance is certified on Windows Server 2019 Hyper-V host and Windows Server 2019 guest. That means Oracle Database 19c client is certified on the host/guest combination too.
