Dear Customers and Partners,
I am excited to share that on March 31, 2020, Oracle announced that it entered into an agreement to acquire LiveData Utilities, which extends Oracle Utilities’ Network Management System (NMS) by adding a long-standing partner that provides leading operational technology (OT) middleware solutions and SCADA capabilities to monitor and control utility equipment while reducing the complexity of real-time systems. The transaction is expected to close in the next few weeks, subject to customary closing conditions.
The Oracle and LiveData Utilities combination will make it easier for our customers to control and securely manage both legacy and next-generation devices. LiveData Utilities will be fully embedded as part of NMS driving high performance and enhanced security as part of Oracle engineered systems.
With the addition of LiveData Utilities, Oracle will provide a full ADMS, Outage, and DERMS platform that allows customers the flexibility to choose Oracle’s full SCADA capabilities or continue to use their existing legacy SCADA investments while adding new grid-edge sensor and control points directly into Oracle NMS SCADA.
The LiveData Utilities team will join Oracle Utilities Global Business Unit, bringing significant knowledge and capabilities to the organization.
We look forward to sharing more details about the benefits that LiveData Utilities brings to our customers. For more information, please reach out to your Oracle Utilities account team or contact one of the following leaders:
Thank you and we look forward to more exciting things in the future.
Regards,
Rodger Smith Senior Vice President and General Manager Oracle Utilities Global Business Unit
