With Oracle Aconex we were able to establish a trustworthy system that provided clear lines of communication across all stakeholders. As our single source of truth, everyone could understand the what, why, and how throughout the entire project. And it’s all backed by excellent support from Oracle.

The NZ$1.6 billion Central Interceptor Project is the largest wastewater project in New Zealand, designed to accommodate expected population growth and reduce overflows, improving the health of local waterways. At first, communications were handled via email and spreadsheets without a centralized single source of truth, leading to costly project delays. After researching providers, leadership chose Oracle Aconex for its proven track record in large-scale infrastructure projects, ease of use, and customer support. As the lead partner of the joint venture, Ghella, a global infrastructure contractor specializing in complex underground works, played a key role in driving the adoption of Aconex on Watercare’s Central Interceptor Project. With Aconex, project managers shaved time spent on document management by 30%. With hundreds of organizations involved in the project, using Aconex to handle the scale of documentation and communication resulted in a 10% reduction in contract value, which came from improved communications and faster decision-making. Building on this successful experience, Ghella and Watercare, New Zealand's largest water utility company, have extended the use of Aconex to the Herne Bay Collector project, ensuring continuity, consistency, and effective collaboration across projects.
