Guardian Holdings is an insurance and financial services company employing more than 3,000 people. It operates throughout the Caribbean, with main offices in Trinidad and Tobago and regional offices in Jamaica, Barbados, and Curacao.
To meet its goal of transforming the insurance industry across the Caribbean, Guardian Group needed to improve its HR functions, which were mostly focused on just employee leave, compensation, and benefits. Guardian Group was ready for an effective infrastructure to focus on more strategic matters.

The company selected Oracle Fusion Cloud Human Capital Management (HCM) because it found that Oracle has a complete and cost-effective platform compared to offerings from Workday, SAP SucessFactors, and Microsoft Dynamics.
In addition, Oracle provided the right support. Oracle’s Caribbean team was in contact with Guardian from the beginning, which made the journey easier.
Oracle Cloud HCM streamlined HR operations for Guardian Group in several ways. For example, time to hire decreased, while line managers gained the ability to see resumes as soon as applicants applied for positions. The company no longer needs to rely on an outside firm for recruitment.
Also, payroll processing work declined because Oracle Cloud HCM enables employees to manage their information using self-service on mobile devices and allows managers to validate and approve information against integrated rules. These all flow automatically through to the employees’ pay slip.
Leave balances on the books also decreased because Oracle Cloud HCM improved absence management and enabled more efficient tracking.
