Jungbunzlauer builds global HR foundation with Oracle Fusion Cloud HCM
The sustainable ingredients company improves transparency in performance and pay and expands employee self-service.

“Oracle Fusion Cloud HCM helped us move from a network of local processes to one global HR source of truth. We now manage performance and compensation cycles with greater transparency, supported by reliable data and a simpler self-service experience for employees.”
Jungbunzlauer, a Swiss-based biotech company that produces biodegradable, bio-based ingredients, such as acidulants, texturants, and specialty salts, had relied on fragmented local HR data and processes across its operations in 11 countries.
With Oracle Fusion Cloud Human Capital Management (HCM), Jungbunzlauer established a single global HR platform, enabling it to implement its first companywide employee-performance framework. The implementation also improved transparency in compensation decisions and expanded employee self-service. Across various areas, Jungbunzlauer has reduced manual tasks and further improvements are planned. The result is better HR data quality and more reliable insights to support HR and business leaders.
Why Jungbunzlauer chose Oracle
Preparing for its next phase of expansion, Jungbunzlauer wanted a platform that could scale as its operations continued to grow. Coupled with a need to continue to attract a new workforce generation, the company also wanted its employee experience to feel more current and digitally enabled.
The company selected Oracle Fusion Cloud HCM as the foundation for this initiative, called Project Genesis, because of the application suite’s comprehensive capabilities across core HR, workforce management, and talent processes. Company leaders also liked the intuitive user experience, strict governance, increased transparency, and reliable data delivered by the platform.
A key requirement was the ability to support complex workforce needs, including employee scheduling, time and absence, and global regulatory compliance. Oracle also offered a clear path to adopting AI capabilities in areas such as goal creation and recruiting.
Results
One of the most important outcomes of Jungbunzlauer’s Oracle Cloud HCM implementation is the company’s first global HR performance framework, which standardizes employee goal setting, evaluations, and ratings across the company’s global operations, connecting performance directly to compensation and bonus decisions. This framework created a clearer structure for pay increases based on merit and strengthened transparency and defensibility—especially important in regions with strict pay equity expectations.
The company also enhanced compensation governance by aligning performance data with job architecture, salary benchmarking, and total rewards structures. HR and business leaders now have better data to explain compensation decisions.
Oracle Cloud HCM’s self-service capabilities also simplified HR processes for employees and managers. For example, time and absence management shifted away from manual, email-driven workflows to direct employee interaction, reducing administrative effort and errors while increasing efficiency.
Jungbunzlauer also benefits from improved data reporting and analytics. HR and leadership teams gain more reliable workforce data, enabling faster responses to business questions and better-informed decisions.
Embedded AI capabilities deliver immediate value. Employees use AI-assisted tools to create goals aligned with the company’s performance framework, improving consistency. The company plans to extend AI into recruiting, learning, and skills development to further enhance productivity and workforce insights.
Overall, Jungbunzlauer reduced the number of manual HR tasks, improved data quality, and strengthened organizationwide transparency, creating a scalable HR foundation that supports the company’s growth worldwide.
