Maynooth University boosts resiliency with OCI Full Stack Disaster Recovery
The Irish university migrates its Oracle JD Edwards applications to OCI for greater efficiency and one-click disaster recovery.
“We are thrilled with our cross-region Full Stack Disaster Recovery implementation on OCI. The solution requires minimal human intervention and helps ensure a resilient and secure IT infrastructure. We are confident that we have protected our data and applications for our user community.”
Maynooth University, part of the National University of Ireland, serves 16,000 students and a global alumni network of 100,000. The university wanted to avoid any downtime to core administrative systems, because it would be extremely disruptive to operations. After migrating its JD Edwards financial management and procurement applications to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) with Oracle Database Service, the university saw improved productivity and availability. Guided by Redfaire, Maynooth tapped OCI Full Stack Disaster Recovery to help automate comprehensive security and disaster recovery of applications and infrastructure. The university now regularly simulates disasters and manages recovery with only minutes of downtime, despite failing over to a geographically different OCI region.
