“As frontier AI threats evolve, we are collaborating with Oracle development teams to modernize security, improve efficiency, and build a resilient and secure foundation for mission-critical local government systems.”
Continuously advancing the cloud infrastructure that supports local government services
RKKCS Corporation is an IT services company that supports business systems for local governments. The company provides services to more than 300 local governments across Japan, combining stable service delivery with a flexible operating model capable of adapting to changes in regulations and technology. RKKCS delivers these services using a modern architecture that is among the most advanced in Japan.
Driving an uncompromising security operating model for the frontier AI era with Oracle Autonomous AI Database
RKKCS Corporation has adopted Oracle Autonomous AI Database on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) as a core component of its modernized architecture. As emerging threats in the frontier AI era increase the need for an uncompromising security operating model for mission-critical systems, RKKCS is leveraging the autonomous capabilities of Oracle Autonomous AI Database to strengthen its security posture while reducing the operational burden of database maintenance.
With autonomous security patching, including continuous prerelease patching designed to proactively protect against zero-day vulnerabilities, Oracle Autonomous AI Database enables RKKCS to benefit from Oracle’s continuous protection without managing each security update individually. By autonomously handling critical database maintenance and security operations, Oracle Autonomous AI Database helps RKKCS keep its mission-critical systems protected while allowing its operations team to focus on improving service quality and delivering greater value to local governments.
Building a sustainable cost structure through operational automation and elastic pool
RKKCS is working to reduce the effort required for database operations by taking advantage of ADB automation capabilities, including automated backups, patching, and performance management. In addition, based on usage scale and workload characteristics, the company is evaluating resource allocation and cost optimization, including the use of Elastic Pool. Its goal is to achieve predictable and efficient operating costs over the long term while maintaining the required levels of availability and performance. RKKCS has also adopted Elastic Pool to support its large-scale ADB architecture, using it for both migration and production operations. This enables the company to deliver services with the elasticity needed to meet peak-period demands for local government systems.
Designing for availability with Oracle Autonomous Data Guard and for observability
RKKCS Corporation is validating a disaster recovery architecture using Oracle Autonomous Data Guard. To improve availability across the Tokyo and Osaka regions, the company is evaluating the use of Oracle Autonomous Data Guard between the regions and assessing configurations suited to its disaster recovery requirements. At the same time, RKKCS plans to combine Oracle Autonomous AI Database metrics, OCI Monitoring, and Grafana to visualize database operating conditions and accelerate early detection based on normal operating baselines.
Keeping Oracle Autonomous AI Database at the center of the architecture for future AI adoption
Looking ahead to broader AI adoption, RKKCS Corporation continues to position Oracle Autonomous AI Database at the core of its data and business logic architecture. With potential use of capabilities such as Oracle AI Data Platform and Oracle Select AI, the company envisions a phased approach that combines Oracle Vector Search, SQL, and integration with OCI Object Storage to support inquiries related to local government operations, data integration, and business process automation. RKKCS will continue collaborating with Oracle’s Autonomous AI Database team, incorporating frontline requirements into product and architecture considerations as it builds a trusted foundation for AI adoption.
