On June 23, 2014, Oracle announced that it had entered into an agreement to acquire MICROS Systems, a provider of integrated software and hardware solutions to the Hospitality and Retail industries. We are pleased to announce that the transaction has closed.
Accelerating our customers' ability to transform their businesses through the combination of Oracle and MICROS' innovative technology will help Hotels, F&B and Retail companies compete more effectively in today's environment. To deliver the most compelling and leading-edge industry-focused solutions, Oracle will continue its highly successful dedicated Industry Business Unit model with MICROS by integrating MICROS' retail solutions and employees into the existing Oracle Retail Business Unit and by creating a new Hospitality Business Unit dedicated to the Hotel and F&B industry.
