Bellevue University modernizes PeopleSoft apps with Oracle Autonomous Database
The university upgrades its Oracle PeopleSoft Campus workloads with Autonomous Database to gain better performance, availability, and security.

The private, nonprofit university is located just outside of Omaha, Nebraska. It used an out-of-date Oracle Database 12c for critical PeopleSoft Campus workloads that supported student enrollment, financial aid, class scheduling, and registration. To improve performance, increase availability, and reduce maintenance and security risks, the university decided to upgrade to Oracle Autonomous Database on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). After the implementation, and with guidance from Oracle Customer Success Services, Bellevue’s PeopleSoft systems increased performance, business continuity, and productivity. Oracle Autonomous Transaction Processing delivered significant performance improvements, including complex queries that dropped from hours to mere seconds, 50% faster class enrollment for real-time processing, and 44% faster batch processing. Bellevue’s IT staff now focuses more strategically on projects that enhance the student experience.
