Unpredictable dock receiving process creates congestion and overtime
More than 100 logistics suppliers a day arrived at Foresea docks to unload oil and gas inventory with varying shipment volumes and multiple invoices—all without an appointment. This unpredictability meant that Foresea could not reliably anticipate arrivals at its base yards, leading to traffic queues, late-day peaks, and unnecessary staff overtime. The company needed to modernize its Oracle APEX dock scheduling application on-premises to accommodate higher volumes, enforce capacity and exception rules, and connect finance and accounting data via integration with Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP.
Oracle Autonomous AI Database with Private Agent Factory helps improve yard flow
Foresea migrated to Oracle Autonomous AI Database 26ai on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) with Oracle Integration Cloud, a process that required minimal changes. The company established a self-service booking application with time slots based on delivery volumes, material items, and invoices that are integrated with purchase orders and documents. The result is more accurate and orderly deliveries with less overtime. Oracle AI Database Private Agent Factory gives suppliers visibility into delivery status so they can follow their check-in, check-out, dwell time, material refusals, and document readiness. The Oracle AI system has also helped reduce wait times and overtime hours. Additionally, Foresea built a data and reporting foundation for more advanced measurement of dwell time and productivity.
