GE Healthcare modernizes for the future with Oracle Sales

GE Healthcare transforms its compensation system using Oracle Sales, allowing the company to improve its market approach and ensure sales performance.

Business challenges

The leading global medical technology and digital solutions innovator enables clinicians to make faster, more informed decisions through intelligent devices, data analytics, applications and services, supported by its Edison intelligence platform.

With over 100 years of healthcare industry experience and some 50,000 employees globally, the company operates at the center of an ecosystem working toward precision health, digitizing healthcare, helping increase productivity, and improving outcomes for patients, providers, health systems, and researchers around the world.

GE Healthcare wanted to change the way it calculated and paid its salesforce—by trading in its custom sales incentive compensation application for Oracle Incentive Compensation. Prior to Oracle, the company used an application that lacked mobile functionality as well as the ability to quickly respond to changing sales plans.

Why GE Healthcare chose Oracle

Working with partner Infosys, GE Healthcare realized it could expand automation to other use cases and minimize manual intervention. Using robotic process automation, which eliminates repetitive tasks, the company could calculate variable sales compensation more easily. It selected Oracle Incentive Compensation for automatic configuration of credit rules, roles, and mapping.

Results

GE Healthcare optimized its sales compensation rules and related plans. It improved operational productivity and calculation accuracy. Process automations reduced the implementation timeline of some 8,000 calculation rules by 60%, which translates to increased business efficiencies.

Overall, GE Healthcare’s customer experience improved through standardization and automation, which resulted in increased accuracy and better visibility, which ultimately motivates sellers more effectively. These results were recognized at the 15th Annual Markie Awards, where GE Healthcare was a finalist in Thinker Award for Best Innovation in CX category.
