OCI helped us deploy AI agents responsibly for healthcare at national scale. By running the Cohere Command A model on dedicated AI clusters and using retrieval-augmented generation grounded in trusted clinical and patient data sources, the MyHealth app can instantly bring together the right information for each citizen—appointments, test results, vaccination history, reminders, and prescriptions or referrals—so millions of citizens get clear, fluent Greek answers and services in real time without compromising security, privacy, or predictable performance.

IDIKA, Greece’s government-owned national health IT organization, set out to address a longstanding problem: Accessing health records and services was time-consuming, fragmented, and confusing for millions of Greek citizens. Patients were forced to navigate multiple portals, make calls, and decipher complex medical information, often causing frustration and delayed care.

To fix this, IDIKA partnered with Oracle to launch the MyHealth app—one agent-powered, secure portal that helps citizens manage appointments, receive medical reminders, access test results, review vaccination histories, and obtain prescriptions or referrals, all from their mobile device. The MyHealth app is powered by Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Kubernetes Engine and microservices that dynamically select and retrieve the right patient data from trusted data sources. Using dedicated AI clusters running the Cohere Command A model with retrieval-augmented generation, the app combines real-time health information with generative AI to deliver instant, highly accurate responses in Greek. Oracle was selected for its enterprise-grade security, multilayer authentication, advanced AI infrastructure and models, and flexible, extensible architecture—reinforcing citizen privacy, predictable performance, and ease of future expansion.

Since the app launched, more than 1.5 million Greek citizens have adopted MyHealth, and it has received high scores and positive reviews in Google Play and Apple’s App Store.
