Oracle and Google Cloud are now offering Oracle Database@Google Cloud to customers in Japan. With the debut of the powerful multicloud service in Japan, customers can now run Oracle Exadata Database Service on Dedicated Infrastructure and Oracle Autonomous Database on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) in the Asia-Northeast 1 (Tokyo) Google Cloud datacenter. In addition, for the first time, Google Cloud and Oracle partners will have the ability to purchase Oracle Database@Google Cloud from the Google Cloud Marketplace via a private offer and resell it to their customers.

Oracle Database@Google Cloud is designed to help customers accelerate their journeys to the cloud as well as simplify management of Oracle databases and mission-critical database applications, such as transaction processing for order management, data warehousing and analytics for supply chain management, and real-time transaction processing in financial services and e-commerce. It enables customers to create cloud applications using the industry-leading Oracle Database or migrate existing applications to Oracle Database services running on OCI in Google Cloud datacenters.

In addition, developers can create new cloud-native applications by integrating Oracle Database 23ai and Google’s leading AI models using tools such as Google’s Gemini and the Vertex platform. Existing Google Cloud customers can use the Oracle Database in a fully managed form for their enterprise workloads. Integration with the Google Cloud Marketplace along with the upcoming new partner program enables customers in Japan to have a simplified cloud purchasing and management experience.

Powerful Cloud Database Services

Oracle Database@Google Cloud gives customers direct access to Oracle database services running on OCI and deployed in Google Cloud datacenters. The first Oracle database services to be offered through Oracle Database@Google Cloud to customers in Japan are:

• Oracle Exadata Database Service on Dedicated Infrastructure supports Oracle Exadata X11M: Oracle Exadata Database Service on Dedicated Infrastructure supports Oracle Exadata X11M and leverages Real Application Clusters (RAC) to help deliver significant performance improvements across AI, analytics, and online transaction processing (OLTP) compared to the previous generation.
• Oracle Database 23ai: The latest version of Oracle Database includes Oracle AI Vector Search, JSON Relational Duality Views, and more than 300 additional major features focused on simplifying the use of AI with data, accelerating app development, and running mission-critical workloads. Oracle AI Vector Search capabilities enable customers to securely combine search for documents, images, and other unstructured data with search on private business data, without moving or duplicating it. With JSON Relational Duality Views, developers no longer have to choose a single data model for their data. They get the benefits of both the JSON and relational data models on the same data.
• Oracle Autonomous Database: Oracle Autonomous Database provides a fully automated and managed Oracle Database service that is integrated with the Google Cloud console and APIs, enabling global organizations to migrate and run any workloads securely, from the simplest to the most mission-critical. It runs on top of RAC on Exadata Cloud Infrastructure to deliver high performance, scalability, availability, and security.

To give customers in Japan more options for their workloads, Oracle Base Database Service in Oracle Database@Google Cloud is planned to be available soon. Oracle Base Database Service is planned to run Oracle Database Enterprise Edition and Standard Edition 2 versions of Oracle Database 19c and 23ai on virtual machines.

New Oracle Database@Google Cloud Partner Program

For the first time, Google Cloud and Oracle partners in Japan will have the ability to purchase Oracle Database services that are part of Oracle Database@Google Cloud from the Google Cloud Marketplace via a private offer and resell it to their customers. In addition, technology partners will soon be able to include Oracle Database@Google Cloud in their solutions and services offerings. Available within the next 12 months, the new partner program is planned to be open to partners that are members of both the Google Cloud Partner Advantage program and the Oracle PartnerNetwork (OPN). Transactions will occur through Google Cloud Marketplace and only Google Cloud credits can apply.

The new Asia-Northeast 1 (Tokyo) region is in addition to the available Google Cloud regions across Germany Central (Frankfurt), U.K. South (London), U.S. East (Ashburn), and U.S. West (Salt Lake City). Additional regional availability planned within the next 12 months includes Asia-Northeast 2 (Osaka), Asia-South 1 (Mumbai), Asia-South 2 (Delhi), Australia-Southeast1 (Sydney), Australia-Southeast2 (Melbourne), Europe-West8 (Milan), Europe-West12 (Turin), North America-Northeast 1 (Montreal), North America-Northeast 2 (Toronto), South America-East 1 (São Paulo), and U.S. Central 1 (Iowa).
