Jo Malone CBE

Founder & Creative Director, Jo Loves

"Designing fragrance is who I am. It makes my heart beat"

Jo Malone has been described as an 'English scent maverick' and the woman responsible for creating some of the world's most loved fragrances.

Originally a facial therapist, Jo fell in love with fragrance whilst working from her discreet skin care clinic which she set up from her London home. Discovering an instinctual talent for creating scented products by hand in her kitchen, word of her exceptional potions quickly spread and soon Jo was unable to keep up with demand. From these artisan beginnings Jo launched her first brand, Jo Malone London which gained cult status around the world.

In 1999, Jo sold the business to Estee Lauder Companies and remained Creative Director until she left in 2006.

Two years later in 2008, Jo was honoured with an MBE for her services to the beauty industry.

Aware that her passion for fragrance never left her, it was falling in love with cooking that inspired Jo to play with food, flavours and colours that she had never used before. Being back in her kitchen, blending ingredients by hand and excited by the process, she soon realised that her instincts were prompting her to create fragrance and she found herself asking 'could I do it again?' Possessing an inherent entrepreneurial flair, a head full of ideas and the desire to build another business, Jo decided to follow her instincts and return to the beauty industry.

In November 2011, five years after leaving Jo Malone London, she launched her new brand Jo Loves to global anticipation and in 2013, Jo opened the first Jo Loves store in Belgravia's Elizabeth Street, where coincidentally she began her career as a sixteen year old florist. Bottling her undeniable desire to create beautiful and unexpected fragrances, pioneering new products and entertaining experiences, Jo Loves embodies integrity, creativity and innovation.

Jo Loves is full of excitement and anticipation and I want to discover things that I've only ever dreamed about. Recognised for her industry expertise, Jo regularly shares her brand building experience with audiences around the world, highlighting her entrepreneurial journey and how she intends to change the way the world wears fragrance for a second time. Jo was awarded a CBE in the June 2018 Queen's Birthday Honours List for her services to the British Economy and the GREAT Britain campaign, which promotes British creativity and industry on the international stage. She also contributes to consumer publications in addition to regular radio and TV appearances. Jo's autobiography 'My Story' is published by Simon & Schuster.

Kate Astall

Head of Digital Marketing, Zurich Insurance

With over 10 years in industry Kate has worked in a variety of agency and client side roles, most recently as Head of Digital Marketing for Zurich. In her previous roles she worked on major digital campaigns for consumer brands such as Asda, Revolution Bars and Vodafone, as well as working on B2B Digital Strategy.

Kate now runs the Digital Marketing team at Zurich UK which spans UX, content, digital analytics, web build, search and paid campaigns.

Matt Brentnall

Joe Fuster

Group Vice President, CX Cloud Business Group, Oracle

Group Vice President of Customer Experience Cloud, Joe leads overall strategy and go-to-market for Oracle CX. During his four-year tenure, CX has become a growth engine for Oracle while increasing customer satisfaction. With operational experience in over 50 countries, Joe is a frequent global speaker on Digital Transformation and Artificial Intelligence. Prior to Oracle, Joe was SAP's Senior Vice President of Global Sales for CRM. Prior to SAP, Joe worked for, Siebel Systems and PeopleSoft, in a variety of executive roles, leading successful sales efforts and innovating operations.

Ashley Friedlein

Founder, Econsultancy

Ashley is one of the most influential and connected figures in digital and marketing. As one of the 100+ recommendations for him on LinkedIn reads, “If Ashley doesn’t know it – it ain’t worth knowing.”

In 2013 Ashley authored the "Modern Marketing Manifesto" which set out his beliefs around how digital and classic marketing should combine. In 2017 he followed this up with the “Modern Marketing Model (M3)” which redefines marketing for the digital age. Ashley is author of two best-selling books on digital. A columnist, commentator and blogger, he speaks worldwide on digital and marketing trends and best practice. Ashley is involved in a number of digital businesses and ventures as investor, adviser, mentor and operationally.

Suki Thompson

CEO and Founder, Oystercatchers

Suki Thompson is well-known in the media and communications industry as a serial entrepreneur, co-founder of the award winning Oystercatchers marketing consultancy and Haystack and now Founder of Let’s Reset, the wellbeing and cultural change company. She also retains her role as Chair/Exec Director Xeim/Centaur Media and NED Gateley Plc. As a transformational business leader with a passion for promoting business cultures founded on commercial effectiveness, wellbeing and resilience, Suki is regularly named as one of the most powerful people in advertising by industry bible Campaign, was a previous Chair of The Marketing Society, a member of WACL and in 2018 landed Entrepreneur of the Year by WinTrade.

She has advised some of the most powerful brands globally including, McDonald’s, Samsung, Tesco, Sainsbury’s and worked with the top agency groups including WPP, Omnicom, Havas and Publicis.

Suki was a Trustee of Macmillan Cancer Support for eight years, until earlier this year, following her first of three cancer diagnoses in 2008. Since then she has discovered she holds the BRACA gene. This has led her to think carefully about her own wellbeing and contributed to her enormous resilience and led her to writing the book, Let’s Reset with portraits by the international photographer, Rankin, to be launched in December 2019.

Mike Croucher

GVP - Head of Technology Strategy and Chief Architect, Travelport

Mike joined Travelport in June 2014 in the vital leadership role of Chief Architect, with accountability for leading the Technology Strategy. At Travelport Mike has lead the re-architecture of their systems in the digital age, and has continuously brought both business and technology innovation to the Travel Industry.

Mike has extensive experience in IT and travel, with nearly 40 years experience leading and innovating IT and business change in the travel sector and a particularly strong track record in successfully implementing IT systems across large, global organisations. From his early days at Scandinavian Airlines designing and implementation many of the operational and customer facing systems in the early 80s, through to the formation of the GDS companies. having played a key role in the design and implementation of Galileo in the 1990s. Prior to Travelport, Mike spent 15 years working for British Airways (BA) as Head of IT Architecture and Delivery where he led the IT at British Airways through the year 2000, developed BA’s web and mobile presence through and championing self-service through mobile technologies. Mike was also a major contributor to the logistical planning and design of the passenger proposition at Terminal 5 in Heathrow, one of the biggest civil engineering projects in the UK at the time, leading the IT implementation.

Mike, who is based in Langley (UK), holds a BSc Hons in Mathematics from Loughborough University and is a keen rugby supporter and squash player.

Tony Miller

VP Digital Marketing & CRM, EMEA, The Walt Disney Company

Tony is passionate about the consumer - giving them the best experience through creative storytelling – fuelled by the right mix of insight, data, and technology.

Tony leads Disney’s digital transformation across EMEA, ensuring there’s a consistent approach to connecting with our audiences - on the right platform(s), with the right content, at the right time. He overseas consumer data, marketing technology, and partnerships, ensuring marketing optimisation and media effectiveness is delivered to the business. He’s responsible for audience planning, media strategy, measurement & performance, governance & operations.

Previous to Disney, Tony spent his career agency side, managing digital transformation for multiple brands across many industry sectors. In his personal time, he is a keen traveller and photographer.

Tom Pepper

Senior Director, Head of Marketing Solutions for LinkedIn UK, Ireland & Israel

Tom Pepper joined LinkedIn in 2015 and is now Senior Director, Head of Marketing Solutions for LinkedIn UK, Ireland & Israel. Tom is responsible for helping B2B marketers across multiple verticals to identify, target and engage the world’s professionals through the LinkedIn platform.

Before joining LinkedIn, Tom was Managing Director of Vibrant Media – a native advertising platform.

He has two young children and became passionate about striking a better work/life balance after taking six weeks paternity leave after the birth of his second child .

Nina Bennett

Director Commercial Technology and Operations EMEA Eaton

Nina joined Eaton in January 2015 to help develop Eaton’s marketing function. She is responsible for leading Eaton’s digital marketing transformation in EMEA. Her team are responsible for digitizing marketing processes, putting into place the supporting digital technologies and systems, and building organizational capabilities that can maximize the effectiveness of these. Nina is also responsible for developing a data-driven, marketing operations capability that increases organizational efficiency, agility, and value using standard marketing processes and data to inform decision making. In January 2018 EMEA sales enablement and operations were added to her remit.

Prior to joining Eaton, Nina lead the marketing communications function for the Indirect business at Colt, a European IT and telecommunications provider for five years before which she was as Nortel for twelve years, a Canadian an IT and telecommunications vendor, performing a range of marketing roles spanning global campaign management, partner marketing, demand generation, field marketing and segment marketing.

Peter Silvester

Sales Manager, Fishbowl Solutions, Europe

Peter Silvester is Sales Manager for Fishbowl Solutions in Europe. He joined Fishbowl Solutions in January 2019 to set up their operations in Europe and their first offices outside of the US. Fishbowl Solutions are a leading developer for Oracle Intelligent Chatbot Cloud Services. Leveraging the Oracle Digital Assistant, we can design and implement a digital assistant specific to a customer’s specific use case.

Prior to joining Fishbowl Solutions, Peter was the Senior Director of Business Development at Oracle Corporation for their EMEA Digital Experience (DX) Group, DX covered all aspects of Mobility, Content, Experience and Process technologies and cloud services at Oracle.

Peter is an EMEA media spokesman for digital technologies and a great advocate and evangelist of this technology both inside and outside of Fishbowl Solutions. He is a frequent speaker, author and blogger on this subject.

Peter has spent his entire working career involved in Information Technology working at various companies on assignments in Consulting, Product Management, Sales and Marketing across many parts of the world including the US, Europe and the Middle East. Peter has worked in the US as both a customer and product manager of software vendor solutions, he graduated with a BSc (Hons) in Computer Science and Mathematics from Loughborough University in the UK.

Stefan Tornquist

SVP, Research and Content Strategy Econsultancy

Stefan manages all of Econsultancy’s research and content in North America. He is the primary author of over 100 studies exploring topics in digital marketing, technology and business transformation with partners leading the marketing technology revolution such as Adobe, Google, IBM, Microsoft, Oracle and Salesforce.
