Challenges

A word from Deutsche WertpapierService Bank AG

  • “We like the flexibility of Oracle Waveset because it works with our existing infrastructure. An identity management system, a J2EE-enabled application server, a directory server, and a high-availability database are all that is required to manage user identities across many banking systems.” – Ralf Hoops, Project Manager Application Services, Deutsche WertpapierService Bank AG

  • Implement a centralized, hierarchical directory solution that can authorize bank clients access to numerous banking applications with unified login
  • Reduce time to modify authorizations as required for 280,000 user identities
  • Enable the bank’s clients to use their own authorization models and specific user lifecycle

Solutions

  • Implemented Oracle Directory Server Enterprise Edition to establish a centralized, hierarchical system with the capabilities dwpbank required for numerous, multitenancy role models, and context-sensitive administration interfaces
  • Unified login for the bank’s clients to access numerous banking applications and resources
  • Achieved real-time provisioning, substantially reducing time for the authorization, compared to the previous paper-based process
  • Leveraged Oracle Waveset to modify user authorizations through graphical user interface and file-managed routes, enabling dwpbank’s clients to use their proprietary authorization systems
  • Enhanced the security of the bank’s systems substantially by introducing a software layer between the applications and the authorization infrastructure to achieve role-based access control
  • Future-proofed the identity management infrastructure with high-performance Oracle’s Sun Fire V490 servers running Oracle Solaris 10, which the bank can quickly extend as needed
  • Worked with Oracle Customer Support to customize Oracle Waveset to run on an Oracle GlassFish Server, a Java 2 Platform Enterprise Edition (J2EE)-enabled application server
  • Facilitated bidirectional password encryption synchronization with legacy environments
