Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) supports the widest range of hybrid cloud strategies, from deploying portable devices on the edge to bringing the entire cloud portfolio to a customer’s data center. These hybrid cloud platforms provide customers with the flexibility to choose their infrastructure based on their workload, regulatory, and latency needs.
A complete cloud infrastructure platform that enables partners to become cloud providers and offer a full range of cloud services to expand their businesses.
More companies are adopting a hybrid environment to strategically meet their application and infrastructure demands.
As enterprises increasingly adopt cloud computing in their digital transformation journeys, multicloud and hybrid cloud infrastructures are becoming ubiquitous.
See how OCI works with other cloud providers
Hybrid cloud architecture uses both a public cloud provider, such as OCI, and on-premises infrastructure to meet enterprise IT needs. This approach provides the flexibility to move some workloads to the public cloud while retaining others on-premises.
According to industry analyst IDC, “major developments and future growth are tied to the enablement of hybrid environments.” Hybrid cloud architecture is gaining importance as certain workloads cannot be moved to public cloud data centers for reasons that include data residency, network latency, and infrastructure performance requirements. Dedicated region deployment options such as Oracle Alloy and Oracle Cloud@Customer are the only offerings among public cloud vendors that bring a complete portfolio of more than 100 cloud services into customer data centers, enabling hybrid cloud architectures.
Oracle Exadata Cloud@Customer combines the benefits of the public cloud with customer data centers. OCI delivers the same fully featured, self-service, high-performance Exadata Database Service and Oracle Autonomous Database on-premises that we offer in our public cloud, with the added benefit of globally available cloud-based management. Automate scaling, tuning, provisioning, patching, and fault management with Autonomous Database on Exadata Cloud@Customer.
Oracle Dedicated Region Cloud@Customer delivers all OCI services and Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications inside the customer’s own data centers. All these services and applications help you to not only augment your journey to the cloud, but also do so from the comfort of your own data centers.
Many large-scale data center users have been working through plans for cloud migration but struggle to move gradually, keeping processing on-premises and moving applications and data in a stepwise manner to the cloud. Exadata Cloud@Customer and Oracle Dedicated Region Cloud@Customer overcome this issue by, in effect, bringing the cloud to the customer.

Oracle Roving Edge Infrastructure accelerates deployment of cloud workloads outside the data center. Ruggedized Oracle Roving Edge Devices (Oracle REDs) deliver cloud computing and storage services at the edge of networks and in disconnected locations, allowing faster processing close to the data source and enabling faster insights into the data.
Existing OCI virtual machines (VMs) and object storage can be synchronized to Oracle Roving Edge devices using the same portal and tenancy tooling as our public regions. Roving Edge Devices can be used for fast data collection and processing in the field, application deployment to remote facilities, development/testing in the cloud and deployment to the edge, and artificial intelligence/machine learning (AI/ML) at the edge.
Oracle MySQL HeatWave allows organizations to run OLTP and OLAP workloads directly from their MySQL database, eliminating the need for complex, time-consuming, and expensive data movement and integration with separate analytics databases. Its massively parallel, high-performance, in-memory query accelerator improves performance by orders of magnitude for analytics and mixed workloads.
No changes to existing applications are required to use HeatWave. Customers can use standard MySQL replication between their on-premises database and the MySQL Database Service with HeatWave in the cloud. This enables on-premises databases to leverage HeatWave for query acceleration.
Organizations running applications in multiple cloud environments can take advantage of MySQL HeatWave’s higher performance, superior price-performance, and integrated capabilities by directly accessing it via the Oracle Interconnect for Microsoft Azure or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure FastConnect services.
Oracle Exadata Cloud@Customer combines the performance of Oracle Exadata with the simplicity, flexibility, and affordability of a managed database service in your data centers. It’s the simplest way to move your existing Oracle databases to the cloud, providing full compatibility with your existing Exadata systems and Oracle Database Exadata Cloud Service.
The solution can be used with OCI’s public cloud services for hybrid cloud deployments and can be interconnected with other cloud providers. Exadata Cloud@Customer enables you to meet the data residency and low-latency requirements of existing data center resources while achieving higher database consolidation and scaling that isn’t possible on-premises.
Oracle Autonomous Database on Exadata Cloud@Customer combines all the benefits of having Oracle Exadata in your data center with the simplicity of an autonomous cloud service. It helps you meet strict data residency and security requirements and eliminate many manual database and infrastructure management tasks while supporting on-premises enterprise applications with high Exadata performance.
The solution can be used with OCI’s public cloud services for hybrid cloud deployments and can be interconnected with other cloud providers. Oracle Autonomous Database enables you to consolidate databases with autonomous operations and build a modern enterprise data warehouse without the challenge and cost of moving your on-premises data. IT teams benefit from machine learning–based automation of provisioning, configuring, and tuning—reducing management costs and eliminating downtime with automated error detection, correction, and patching.
Oracle Cloud Observability and Management Platform provides integrated cloud capabilities to monitor and manage hybrid cloud and multicloud environments.
According to an IDC survey, 77% of the IT and line-of-business decision-makers recently polled worldwide indicate they somewhat or strongly agree that comprehensive end user visibility and observability analytics are critical to optimizing digital infrastructures.
A persistent problem in a hybrid cloud environment is how to detect, diagnose, and remediate issues before users are impacted. Traditional monitoring tools aren’t equipped to address these challenges.
With capabilities for infrastructure monitoring, application performance monitoring, logging, log analytics, database management, and infrastructure as code, IT operators can get full-stack visibility, prebuilt analytics, and automation for hybrid cloud environments.
