The precision excavation company improves processes and supports revenue growth with Oracle Sales, Service, and Field Service applications.
“Oracle Field Service is very critical for all our operations. We call it a backbone of our business.”
Founded in 1992 and headquartered in Calgary, Alberta, Badger Daylighting is a publicly traded Canadian environmental services company, specializing in soil excavation. Badger is a leading provider of non-destructive hydrovac excavation services for the oil and gas, power, municipal, transportation, industrial, and commercial construction industries. The company builds its own custom hydrovac trucks that use integrated high-pressure water and vacuum systems mounted on a truck chassis to safely expose buried infrastructure or to prepare an area for future work.
Until 2019, Badger was operating with legacy systems and manual processes that impeded the company’s ability to scale. Additionally, many of its offices were run separately and with siloed communications, which created limited visibility between branches and difficulties for its dispatch team. Badger Daylighting also needed to improve its dispatch processes, as well as modernize and centralize its accounting systems to gain more insights into its financial position and profitability.
Badger wanted a modern cloud service that could help decrease costs, streamline operational efficiencies, and provide insights across the business.
Oracle Cloud allows for us to be nimble and scales with us as we continue to grow. Having the right tools in place enables us to reach strategic milestones as we achieve our goals.
Why Badger Daylighting chose Oracle
The company worked with a partner to assess its current applications and processes. The company chose Oracle Sales, Service, and Field Service because the cloud applications would enable the company to scale and execute its growth plan.
Soon after Badger completed its digital transformation with Oracle Sales, Oracle Service, and Oracle Field Service, the company achieved a 30% reduction in operational work, a 60% reduction in credit and rebills, and significantly reduced account receivables aging. Because every truck has its own profit and loss, Oracle Field Service is also driving core revenue for Badger’s overall business model.
Oracle Sales, Service (formerly Engagement Cloud), and Field Service, part of the Oracle Advertising and Customer Experience suite of applications, enables Badger to provide an enhanced employee and customer experience. The company has been able to shift its focus to improving service engagements and customer satisfaction, rather than managing processes and systems.
With Oracle Cloud ERP, Badger Daylighting is positioned to double revenue in the next five years as growth has continued to increase. Badger is currently implementing additional modules including Oracle Supply Chain Management (SCM).
