Omega Healthcare Management Services is a leading provider of technology-enabled solutions in healthcare, including revenue cycle management, care coordination, and health data solutions to support healthcare providers, payers, and pharmaceutical companies. As it expanded through mergers and acquisitions, the company’s disconnected legacy systems limited the ability to make fully informed decisions. We have made about four acquisitions since the implementation of Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications, and we were able to integrate the back end in a span of four to five months. That made a significant difference with respect to how we could scale.
Why Omega Healthcare chose Oracle
Omega Healthcare’s homegrown and third-party legacy IT systems across HR, ERP, finance, and procurement had limited integration capabilities, which resulted in a heavy reliance on manual processes, ad-hoc workflows, siloed data, and difficulty obtaining actionable business insights. Managing staff became increasingly difficult as the number of employees exploded from less than 10,000 to approximately 35,000 in just four years. The company managed capacity planning on spreadsheets, which proved ineffective and yielded inadequate insights into current and future workforce needs.

The unified Oracle Fusion suite helped Omega Healthcare manage and integrate multiple acquisitions more efficiently and effectively. Omega Healthcare now has all its acquired entities run on Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications. With Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP, EPM, and HCM, Omega Healthcare accelerated financial closing and reporting while improving capacity planning and workforce management. After the company replaced a patchwork of disparate software, it saw improvements in procurement, project management, and expense management. For example, the time required for its quarterly financial close dropped from 25 days to only 2. The planning capabilities in Oracle Fusion Cloud EPM also helped Omega Healthcare manage complex staffing and project planning needs to meet customer demands.
