Microsoft and Oracle have partnered to create a first-of-its-kind, interconnected cloud experience. Now you can get a low-latency, high-throughput, private connection between two leading cloud providers, allowing you to use the best of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and Microsoft Azure with seamless interoperability.
Oracle Autonomous Database on Oracle Database@Azure offers new possibilities to run mission-critical multicloud applications.
“Oracle and Microsoft have many mutual customers across all verticals. With the partnership and interconnect, joint customers can migrate their workloads to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and Microsoft Azure without the need for complex re-architecture or re-platforming.”
Innovate using the best combination of Oracle’s and Microsoft’s cloud services based on their features, performance, and pricing.
Use a direct interconnection between OCI and Microsoft Azure that provides less than two miliseconds of latency for superior multicloud network performance.
Maximize application performance by connecting directly to Oracle Autonomous Database, Exadata Database Service, and MySQL HeatWave environments in OCI.
Run applications, including Oracle E-Business Suite, on OCI with distributed data stores on OCI and Microsoft Azure.
There are no additional charges for using Oracle Interconnect for Azure or moving data between OCI and Azure.
Integra LifeSciences uses the Interconnect to transfer terabytes of data nightly.
Raise issues with My Oracle Support. Both support organizations quickly engage to resolve issues.
Automate provisioning using resources from OCI Architecture Center and Microsoft Azure.
Oracle data centers are distributed around the world.

By using Oracle FastConnect and Azure ExpressRoute, customers can seamlessly build a private interconnection between their OCI and Microsoft Azure environments. The interconnect also enables joint customers to take advantage of a unified identity and access management platform that leads to cost savings. Cloud engineers can set up single sign-on (SSO) between Microsoft Azure and OCI for their Oracle applications, such as PeopleSoft, JD Edwards EnterpriseOne, and E-Business Suite. Having a federated SSO makes the integration seamless and lets users authenticate only once to access multiple applications, without signing in separately to access each application.
With Oracle Interconnect for Azure, customers can access tested, validated, and supported deployments for packaged, cloud native, custom, and third-party applications to assist with ongoing innovation while leveraging current environments. The traffic between Azure and Oracle Cloud flows directly through the private physical connection with round-trip latency of about two milliseconds. Customers can further restrict the flow of traffic by using network security groups (NSGs) and security lists.
Oracle Interconnect for Azure offers a seamless issue resolution process that can be initiated through Microsoft or Oracle when an issue is encountered. For customers who have Oracle software licenses and support, Oracle delivers support directly to customers who are running Oracle software on Windows Server Hyper-V and Microsoft Azure. As additional services are launched because of this partnership, more details on the support model will be shared.
Explore the Oracle Interconnect for Azure networking use cases to support multicloud connectivity. Microsoft and Oracle have copublished several solutions to assist multicloud customers using the interconnect and to enable network connectivity using validated patterns.
To enable customers to deploy an effective DR architecture, Oracle is working toward providing more than one interconnect region in each geographic region, such as US East and US West in North America. Every interconnect circuit (ExpressRoute and FastConnect) comes with a redundant circuit on the same POP but a different physical router, providing high availability.
