Oracle HCM Cloud changed the way we view our human resources data. It is no longer stuck in a system that we cannot report on. I love telling our business owners, ‘I can get that’ when they ask for information.

Arizona Federal Credit Union Saves 60 Hours of Onboarding Monthly, Cuts Benefit Administration Costs, and Reduces Time Spent on Patches by 80%

Arizona Federal Credit Union (AFCU) is a federally insured, $1.6 billion, 125,000-member credit union headquartered in Phoenix. Though it is known as a technology leader in the financial industry, the organization struggled with an antiquated human capital management (HCM) system that had limited reporting capabilities, infrequent patch updates, and an outdated user interface.

Since moving to Oracle Cloud, AFCU gained a modern system that is always up-to-date and secure. It has increased operational efficiency and eliminated human error through automated reporting and saved an estimated 60 hours per month from an onboarding perspective. The credit union also has cut benefit administration expenses through automation and reduced the time and effort spent on fixes/patching by 80%.

Challenges
  • Lack of robust, ad hoc reporting functionality to generate better decision support—for example, ability to better analyze work eligibility or branch turnover data
  • Enhance overall financial data security through more frequent patch updates
  • Modernize user interface to improve and streamline the employee experience
  • Establish solid foundation for increased development of the credit union’s human resources (HR) environment, particularly around recruiting and onboarding financial services professionals
Results
  • Deployed Oracle Human Capital Management Cloud (Oracle HCM Cloud), increased employee efficiency through a more intuitive user interface, and improved the ability to pull data quickly and more accurately through automated reporting
  • Reduced system maintenance costs by driving down time and effort spent on fixes/patching by 80% and gained the ability to standardize processes and scale workloads much more quickly
  • Cut benefit administration expenses through automation, saving 15-20 hours per month on benefits administration and 115 hours during open enrollment
  • Automated employee onboarding processes and saved 60 hours per month, an 18% improvement in time spent on hiring and onboarding
  • Gained the ability to produce ad hoc reports 95% faster and compensation reports 80% faster, boosting productivity and accelerating insight
  • Lowered compensation costs by 2% annually and saved 180 hours annually by having new employees submit their information online prior to joining
  • Boosted workforce engagement by helping employees make informed benefit decisions and enabling them to view all open positions through the internal job board
  • Ensured data consistency and accuracy by integrating Oracle Human Capital Management Base Cloud Service with the third-party payroll system and providing a single repository of staff information
  • Enhanced decision-making abilities by enabling AFCU to leverage the analysis and reporting capabilities to identify trends regarding compensation and more
  • Created a stable foundation with Oracle Cloud that improves uptime and delivers peace of mind with automatic security patches

We chose Oracle HCM Cloud over BambooHR and ADP. Oracle wrote the book on security, so working with them ensures that our data is protected by cutting-edge technologies. The user interface was also modern and inviting, and we knew this was a solution that would continue to evolve over time.
