Expand Collaborative Capabilities Across all Phases of the Analytics Continuum

Why Are We Building This?
To expand the use of data for generating insights, organizations need to be able to easily share and collaborate on analytics content. Providing both structured and unstructured ways to collaborate across all analytics activities builds community and consistency for both agile and governed types of analyses.

What is smart collaboration?

There are multiple activities underway to enhance sharing and collaboration within Oracle Analytics, across all functions. They include the following:

  • Discussion and/or annotation for a data point, visualization, story, data prep, and/or a project.
  • Ability to modularize and share objects for reuse by other content authors.
  • Threaded conversations for back-and-forth discussion.
  • Profiles that allow for grouping of analysts/consumers together. For example: person A’s interests might also appeal to person B and C. Privacy preferences will be respected.
  • Social media sharing including LinkedIn, Twitter, Slack, and other platforms.
  • Social commentary on analyses, dashboards, and datasets including likes, dislikes, and ratings.
  • Extension of certified datasets to include popularity index and feedback from others.

Over the long term, Oracle will expand its sharing and collaboration capabilities to include the following interactive models:

  • Collaborative analytics creation similar to the Google Docs experience.
  • Live building of an analysis to enable many analysts to work jointly on a given project.

How does this benefit you, the customer?

By harnessing the collective wisdom of everyone in your organization—stewards, analysts, consumers, executives, and others—you can drive the sharpest insights, leading to best actions and optimal outcomes.
