Expand Support for New Data Sources and Connectivity Methods

Why Are We Building This?
Data is the lifeblood of any analytics system. Access to data, regardless of the source is paramount. Oracle Analytics is committed to adding data source support in each update of the system.

What are smart data connectors?

The following connector updates are planned for Oracle Analytics:

  • Adding Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) connectivity to:
    • Amazon Redshift
    • Apache Hive
    • IBM Db2
    • Hortonworks Hive
    • IBM BigInsights Hive
    • MapR Hive
    • Pivotal HD Hive
    • Apache Spark
    • Microsoft SQL Server
  • Kerberos-based access to Hadoop distributions
  • Oracle SparklineData
  • Google Big-Query
  • Java database connectivity (JDBC), open database connectivity (ODBC), and “Bring Your Own Driver”

Additionally, Oracle will enable a connector to NetSuite applications. Remote data connect (RDC) protocol support will continue to be expanded with Teradata as a new RDC-based connector.

How does this benefit you, the customer?

More native access to more data enables richer, more diverse analytics.
