Oracle Database Express Edition 11g Release 2 Released to Production
32-bit Oracle Database Express Edition (XE) 11g Release 2 is a free, small-footprint database with an MSI-based install. The new production release is built on the latest Oracle Database technology, supporting up to 11 GB of user data. Developers can use XE as their development and test database.
Statement of Direction: Oracle Database on Windows Itanium
Due to discontinued software development on the Intel Itanium microprocessor, Oracle Database 11g Release 2 will not be available on Microsoft Windows Itanium. Oracle Database 10g Release 2 is available, including support for Microsoft Windows Server 2008 and Windows Server 2008 R2 Itanium starting with the 10.2.0.5 patchset.
