Business challenges

Grupo Globo is Brazil’s leading media and communications conglomerate, with the mission of delivering high-quality experiences through content and services that inform, entertain, and contribute to the education of Brazilians.

In 2018, Globo launched a major reorganization project aimed at unifying five previously separate companies—each using its own on-premises financial, administrative, and HR applications—under a single brand. To support this goal, the company needed to integrate its day-to-day operations into a unified IT ecosystem. This integration enabled Globo to simplify its financial, operational, and logistics processes and improve the flow of information across a single, centralized system.

Why Grupo Globo chose Oracle

After evaluating various options, Globo selected Oracle Fusion Cloud Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Oracle Cloud Enterprise Performance Management (EPM), and Oracle Fusion Cloud Human Capital Management (HCM). These native cloud applications provided the company with access to more powerful and up-to-date technologies. Oracle’s global experience working with partners across multiple industries was another decisive factor that influenced Globo’s final decision.

Results

With the implementation of Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP, EPM, and HCM, Globo’s enterprise management processes became significantly more efficient.

Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP gave the company a detailed view of revenue by channel, enabling faster and more data-driven investment and divestment decisions. Financial closings that previously took place on the seventh business day of each month are now completed by the fifth, representing a 28.5% reduction in closing time.

The infrastructure, logistics, and procurement departments also gained greater efficiency. Oracle Fusion Cloud Procurement helped Globo create a comprehensive inventory of all purchased items and establish a more efficient demand and delivery flow.

Oracle Fusion Cloud HCM consolidated HR information from different systems into a single database, giving employees easy access to vacation details, pay slips, health benefits, and other key information.

Integrated AI features through Oracle Digital Assistant further streamlined employee support, reducing help desk calls by more than 40%, as staff can now quickly find the information they need.

Partners

The success of Globo’s digital transformation with Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications was made possible through coordinated collaboration among three strategic partners. Accenture and Oracle Consulting jointly led the overall project, combining expertise to ensure a solid implementation aligned with Globo’s business goals. Meanwhile, TO Brasil led the Oracle Cloud EPM Financial Consolidation and Close project, strengthening the company’s financial governance and consolidation processes. The collaboration between these teams was key to delivering a robust solution aligned with Globo’s operational scale and complexity.
