OCI Data Transfer Appliance

OCI Data Transfer Appliance

Move large-scale datasets to the Oracle Cloud in the fastest time possible. Up to 150TB per appliance and multiple appliances per data transfer job if necessary. To migrate Oracle databases with the Data Transfer Appliance you can leverage RMAN backups with the transfer appliance as the backup target. Once the appliance is shipped and the data uploaded to Object Storage, you are able to instantiate a new database instance on an Oracle Cloud Infrastructure compute instance and then restore data from the Object Storage.

RMAN offers 5 methods for Database Cloud migration, including: RMAN Cross Platform Transportable PDB, Cross-Platform Transportable Table Space Backup sets, RMAN Transportable Tablespace with Data Pump, CONVERT Transportable Tablespace with Data Pump and DUPLICATE from an Active Database.
