Get the details

Traditionally, Ricoh focused on selling office automation products, such as multifunction printers and projectors. With the surge in Internet of Things (IoT) technologies, Ricoh aims to adopt innovative technologies and empower individuals to work smarter at the workplace. To support this “digital workplace” strategy, Ricoh wanted to expand its services to a broader range of industries—hospitals, retail shops, and public transportation—by adopting a centralized authentication and authorization management system for customers to access different services with a single ID.

Results

Enhanced user experience by using Oracle Identity Cloud Service as a centralized identity management infrastructure to support internal and external cloud applications, enabling customers to easily use single sign-on to access new services instead of creating different accounts for each service

Increased business agility by leveraging Oracle Identity Cloud Service’s intuitive management interface to set up templates and connect new services in just hours

Met the stringent security requirements for B2B and B2C services by centrally monitoring and authorizing all access requests and supporting a larger number of user IDs and protocols, such as OAuth 2.0, SAML, OpenIDConnect, and Federation

Supported digital workplace strategy by providing Ricoh with the flexibility to function as either identity provider or service provider for existing internal and external identity management systems, such as cloud services and social media

Ensured continuous, highest level of security for cloud applications by benefiting from the frequent version updates and incorporating the latest security technologies with Oracle Identity Cloud Service

We considered other solutions, such as Amazon, OneLogin, and Microsoft Azure, but only Oracle Identity Cloud Service met our requirement to connect all kinds of services via a single identity management product.
